A 3-ball spirometer is a simple medical device used to measure lung function and capacity. It is often used in clinical settings to assess a patient's respiratory health. The device consists of three small spheres or balls enclosed in a transparent tube. Each ball is of a different size and weight. Here's how it works:

1. Breathing Test: The patient is asked to take a deep breath and exhale forcefully into the spirometer.

2. Ball Movement: As the patient exhales into the spirometer, the force of their breath pushes the balls upward in the tube. The highest ball reached during exhalation indicates the volume of air expelled from the lungs during that breath.
